"Breathtakingly
impressive … stunned the audience with
virtuosity, control, lucidity and sheer beauty of his playing."
(Pianist Magazine)
Jetley is a thoughtful and sensitive musician, a technically
competent pianist, able to tackle a wide repertoire and bring to
each performance something that is special and unique. So states
Konstantin Scherbakov,
acclaimed international virtuoso and winner of the first Rachmaninov
Competition in 1983.
At 16, Jetley gained a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music,
London. As a student of Harold Craxton (one of Britain’s most
respected professors of piano in the 20th century) Jetley became
part of a select
circle in the Craxton household; musicians that included Moura
Lympany, and Dame Myra Hess. A year later made his public debut in
Worthing, Sussex, playing the Schumann piano concerto under James
Kershaw.
Later while at Leicester University he received further instruction
from Louis Kentner, and has since participated in masterclasses with
Konstantin Scherbakov, Pietro De Maria, Peter Feuchtwanger, and the
distinguished pianist/scholar Paul Badura-Skoda.
In 2007 Jetley was one of three finalists in the Yamaha-Pianist
Competition in London, and a prize-winner in the 2009 International
Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
Jetley has performed in many countries across Europe, in Mexico,
Singapore and in New Zealand. His current schedule includes recitals
in Britain (Covent Garden), Germany (Berlin Philharmonic Hall),
Italy, Poland, Canada, and festivals in Nice and
Shanghai.
